What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is an artificial replacement for the root part of a tooth. An implant takes the form of a small metal post which is cylinder shaped and is often made of titanium.
The implant is inserted and allowed time to fuse with your bone. Once this has happened, a replacement tooth/crown can be fitted to it via a small attachment.

What are mini implants and who are they best suited for?
Mini implants consist of a miniature titanium implant that acts like the root of our tooth and a retaining fixture that is incorporated into the base of your denture.
The “Mini Implant System” was developed in order to provide greater denture stability for patients who cannot withstand the rigors of conventional implant surgery or do not have enough bone to allow for full-sized implants to be placed.

What is a dental bridge
A bridge is a porcelain tooth permanently attached to your natural teeth. It is permanently cemented into the mouth, providing solid support to the structure of the jaw and preventing adjacent teeth from shifting. For lost teeth, we build a special dental bridge that spans the spaces left by missing teeth.

What will happen if I don't fix missing teeth?
Bone loss will occur when a missing tooth is not replaced. As soon as the natural teeth are removed or fall out, the face begins to age rapidly due to bone loss.
Implants versus Dentures
How long do implants last? Implants and bridges will last approximately 15 - 20 years.
How much do implants cost? Implants cost $3,500/each.
How much does a bridge cost? A bridge costs $2,625/each.
Why should you consider an implant or bridge? An implant or bridge will give you the most natuarl result. You can chew, brush and most importantly, eat like normal (ex: steak, corn on the cob, apples...). Once implants are inserted they are treated like real teeth.

How long do dentures last? Denture relinement is recommended every two years ($280+/each visit).
How much do dentures cost? $1,400+ initial fee, not including lifetime maintenance (based on partial).
Dentures need on-going care. If you do not follow recommendations by your dentist/denturist then your face will age much more rapidly. If you wait too long, the muscles that let you chew your food begin to shorten to accommodate the reduced space between your nose and your chin.
