Community Care Dental Program

Helping to restore lives – one smile at a time

People going through a rough period in their lives, or needing assistance getting back on their feet, now have an opportunity to improve their lives through Dawson's new dental care program. Initiated for patients who cannot afford the services they need, general dental services along with some cosmetic treatments are provided through the program.

“Dawson Dental Centre is very much a community-based business,” explains owner and founder Dr. Edward Gelfand. “We take a holistic approach to our patient’s dental needs, from preventative and general dental care, to esthetics and functionality. Through the years we have seen how an enhanced and healthy smile improves one’s self esteem and confidence and contributes to overall good health. The Community Care Dental Program will allow us to make these benefits available for those in need regardless of their financial circumstances.”

Dr. Gelfand and his office team have recently provided two days of free dental care to residents in shelters in the region. “Women and children in shelters are in a period of major transition,” said Dr. Gelfand. “With so much upheaval in their lives, often their dental needs are overlooked and the benefits of good oral care aren’t realized. If Dawson assists even one person in moving on with their lives through improved confidence and health, our program will be considered a success.”
