What are Porcelain Dental Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin, custom-made shells designed to cover the front surface of your teeth and improve their appearance.

Veneers are best for those who want the most natural result possible and cosmetically fix worn, stained, crooked, or discoloured teeth fast.

When bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, and other stain-inducing foods and beverages.

Our Dawson Dental dentists want to help you smile with confidence. We use dental veneers to help us accomplish this.

Will Porcelain Veneers Look Natural?

Veneers can look very natural, and in some cases, they may even easily be mistaken for natural teeth. The porcelain reflects light just like a real tooth, but will not stain or wear like natural teeth do.

Veneers are resilient, allowing you to eat the same foods you've always enjoyed. We use the long-lasting aesthetic cement to attach the veneers. We recreate the colour and translucency of your natural teeth using porcelain, allowing for a natural appearance.

With proper maintenance, your new smile will continue to look just as bright as it did the day the veneers were applied. The best part is that veneers generally require minimal tooth preparation.

What is Involved in Getting Porcelain Veneers?

First, your teeth are prepped, and impressions are taken. Temporary veneers are placed until your custom veneers return from the lab (approximately two weeks).

Your custom veneers are then bonded to your tooth. Veneers are individually handcrafted in our lab, rather than being produced by a machine.

If you maintain your oral health as instructed by your dentist and hygienist, you can ensure the longest possible life for your veneers.
